Here you'll find some useful links gathered in a old thread

http://www.theminifo...nisprint/page-2

iirc a sprint shell has 6 inch chopped out 3'' from the roof and 3'' from the body, there was a build thread on here once but seems i cant find it :(

Paul's car is further modified with custom subframes and alloy panels though.

Not much help to the OP but I thought this worth posting here (I've already posted it on Mark F's Mk1 site and the MCR Forum ;D ). It's a 'blink and you'll miss it' screen grab from a 1968 film called 'The Killing Of Sister George' where the camera pans across a London mews and catches a Stewart & Ardern Minisprint parked up - according to the DVLA site 'TGF 800F' is still about...

I don't half want one....

ignore the squashy thing the cuts are all wrong, to cut through the middle of the panel does nothing but create a shed load of work and loads of body filler to boot, remove all the metal on the outer panels from the bottom of the wings, quarters etc, take a template of the wheel archs and move it up desired amount and return the edge. dont forget to stagger all the joins, cutting the main body creates its own problems but if you choose to leave the gutter on it will make life easier for yourself. Cut on the most vertical parts of the shell, the c post need the most work having to be cut into a number of sections and reassembled, top of the bulk haed is also a joy. There  will be those who tell you how easy it is, but it aint, just ask all the experts to show you the sprints that they have done :)

Those square headlights make them look like they're narrowing their eyes and plotting some kind of evil scheme on the pretenders around them.  Very cool... but the ones without the rear bumper look like they're about to take a dump...! :D

I don't understand why Hawk cars had to cease making the replicas surely they could've just renamed it the Sprint or something (& there's still lots of companies that have Mini in their name trading (I'm guessing they also sell Bini bits to get around it?))

In fact, how can any replica exist if it's easy for the original manufacturer to shut them down, why don't they?? eg: Lancia Stratos, Ferrari MR2's, endless Cobra reps thinkin.gif

Sprints are very individual things, there are probably no two cars that are exactly the same, finding a real period car is almost impossible now, however your best bet if you have one done is to take it to Neville Trickett and have him do the cutting, that way you will maximise the value of the car once its done, all as long as you are prepared to take the chance that if wont get caught up in a VOSA check and get taken off the road due to the modifications (I don't agree with these rules but that's the way it is today sadley)
