They're excellent tyres

Will wear faster than A008s so if yours a daily, just consider this

Personally I prefer the falken over the A008 for an everyday tyre, many will disagree... but for outright grip and performance then the 32R is the one to go for.

I run 165-70-10 falkens on my minis and have had no issues with them in the wet or dry.

Having just replaced another set of A032-Rs I must say the wear rate of these tyres is fine.  People always say they wear fast but the rears I just got rid of were replaced because they were too old and cracked, not because they were worn.  The fronts were worn, but they were the pair I bought at the IMM for Mini 50 so not exactly young.  This car is a daily, and (until the baby came along) used to regularly go on long trips including the BH2N and has put on many laps over there.  I've been using these more or less since they were introduced sometime around 2002 and I think the ones I just put on are set number 4 at the front, the rears last longer.  The first set I fitted wore out in no time, but I found it was due to a slight setup issue with the tracking and camber which had changed more than I anticipated with ride height.  If the car is setup right, these will last around 3 years at the front and 4-5 at the rear but they are very sensitive to setup.

more important to make sure the mini is square and drives properly, then tyres last had some a008's that had 4.5mm left after 15,000 miles inc a couple of track days

That's the crux of it... if you run -ve camber or a little toe in/out then they will wear very quickly...

oh, and if you go to santa pod, expect to write off a set in a weekend.... :-o

i had a full set of a008 on mine and i swapped them around so they wore of even, they did about 13,000ish miles.

the 32's are the best for grip but mine only lasted 1000 miles on the front but in that there was 3 hillclimbs 3 autotests. normal driving should see 3000miles on the front and 6000 on the back i reckon

not really a fan of the falken, there ok but not as good as the a008

Santa Pod is a raceway where you race cars/bikes over a 1/4 mile to see who can cover the distance the fastest

Wow, thanks for all the info guys!
I was thinking about running a but of -ve camber but I definitely take it all into consideration (he says after already getting the garage to order and fit them)

I think if they do wear more quick, ill do what valve bounce says and swap them around...
