I have a 98 MPI with an LCB maniflow exhaust system. The lambda sensor is screwed into the Y section branch low down. It has a different lead on it from standard. It is 4 pin in a straight line plugged into an extension lead about 0.5m long with the correct square plug at the other end. Anyone know what this lambda sensor is or from. It was used in the JCW 85bhp upgrade.

Probably a universal sensor. Not uncommon these days. As long as the number wires and the colours correspond I wouldn't worry, some new sensors don't come with plugs, just tails for soldering.

So if a universal lambda will do , does that mean any MGR lambda will do and I can change the connector on the end to suit.
