Looking at getting a stage 1 kit for my 998cc designer, out of Huddersfield,Mini sport and Minispares which do people think is best for their money. There seems to be quite a difference between them and i know alot on here will know the difference from experience.

Also when you go to a rolling road is it best to use someone who is a mini specialist??

The best stage one kit I have found is Maniflow's one. http://www.maniflow....61&product=1386

It's £250 inc. VAT but their quality makes it worth it. I don't think it comes with a needle though, so you'd have to buy your own.

Also, choose the K&N filter for standard housing rather than the cone filter as it would give better performance.

As for rolling roads, my mates have all used Mini Sport's facilities. I can say for myself, but I've heard nothing bad so far. Check it out on their website.

Well the reason i asked is because mini sport is about half hours drive from my house. There is a couple of rolling road specialist in Bradford but there sites sem to be more towards tuning Brains on cars thats why i asked if best to stick to mini specific.

Going to check your link out know thanks!! :highfive:

Minispares rc40 system is brilliant. Cheaper than the maniflow and you won't notice the difference. I'd match it with a maniflow freeflow manifold rather than an lcb though - better suited to a 998.

Needles are anything between £5 and £10.

I would suggest getting the Maniflow over the RC40 as the 'Stainless steel' tail pipe rusts quite quickly, as does the whole system.

There are numerous threads on here about various stage one kits, so just do a search :)

Both the Huddersfield and Minisport offerings tend to use own brand, or budget unbranded components, with noisy cone filters, whereas the Minispares kit uses the renowned Maniflow manifold, together with the well developed RC40 exhsust system and the market leading K&N element filter. The minispares kit is therefore arguably a higher quality, more refined kit, I have one on my sprite and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

However, If I had the whole market to choose from, I'd actually choose the stage 1 kit offered by Somerford, because it consists of a complete Maniflow system combined with a Maniflow manifold & K&N element. This is what I have fitted to my Mayfair and is the only kit I'd recommend over the minispares one.

My Maniflow stage 1 cost 180 fitted. Thought that was very cheap to be honest.
