Hi there I'm having a little trouble with my indicators. I have a 1990 flame red, I got the indicators working briefly but then I tried them again and they stopped working, when I switch the indicator stalk the relay clicks really fast and doesn't work the lights.

I'm not sure if the relay in there is standard or not it's a 3 prong. One wire is light green with Brown trace, one is just green and the other is a ground.

Everything I have tried so far hasn't worked, I've looked at all the fuses none are broken, I've tried a different stalk which is a known good one and still did the same thing

Can anyone help?

Have you checked for a 12v feed down at the centre pin of the indicator lamps with a good earth? if you have none then check the feed into and out of the unit.

I know that it isn't the bulbs cause the hazards work and all the bulbs flash, but will look and see if I'm getting any current through the relay

If it has 3 terminals it's electronic and should flash at a constant rate regardless of current, I don't think any carb'ed Mins had them as standard, but I could be wrong. Anyway you need to do a bit more investigating, is it also working the hazards? If so, see if there's a relay between it and the stalk, to make them ignition dependent, it may be doing the clicking.

I didn't think it was standard, but any idea of what relay would of originally been on there. The hazard runs off a different relay and they work

Hazard flasher unit has 2 pins and usually lives on the bulkhead under the bonnet. Though your wiring colours are correct for the indicator flasher - green is ignition dependent feeds via a fuse, green/brown is the output from the flasher. Check the quality of the earth, but it sounds like it's a faulty flasher, you could connect the green directly to green/brown to confirm, obviously the indicators won't flash but they should light with normal brightness if the wiring's ok.
