whenever i am driving i get a horrible cracking/creaking noise coming from either my front subframe or suspension etc. im absolutly puzzled to what it could be.

When i am on my own it does it over any little imperfection in the road.... When i have a passenger adding weight to the other side the noise goes away and it behaves.

Link to video i took of the awful sound -

thanks in advance to any replies

Check subframe bushes, sounds like one of them is completely shot.

car was only rebuilt last year with all poly bushes for the front end... could this still be a possibility?

I'd first replace the poly bushes with something better (either rubber all round or solid moutings are the best options) and hope they havent cracked anything

Spray all your poly bushes with GT85, you can get it from Halfrauds, when you installed them did you use any grease? I usually use White Lithium bike grease :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I will get a load of grease around all of the bushes and if this solves it then i will get a new set of front end bushes/mounts

This is interesting!

I chased a similar noise around for a year. Replaced bearings, front tie rubbers, brakes in bits 4/5 times, bought a CV joint and was ready to replace that...

Then I thought it was the alternator bearings, they were noisy , but not my issue. I then changed the rubber subframe mounts to solid and noise GONE!!!!!!

Yep, without opening a can of worms about cheap spares - if the bushes are too hard then they'll end up just deforming, leaving slack for nasty noises.

true, i dont think ive bought anything for it yet that hasnt turned out to be cheap chinese crap. The track rod end rubbers had perished before it was even on the road! going outside to grease up the rear subframe mounts and front mounts now, will see if this makes any difference *fingers crossed*

might i add with how much i have lowered it, it is riding on the bump stops... could this produce this kind of noise?

Could be, leave a minimum 1/2"to 1" clearance between bump stop and top arm
