There is a lot of useful advice in this forum regarding the fitting of Sportspack arches, but I am still nervous about cutting the wings on my JCW MPI. Wings are new (genuine) and I have the genuine strengthening flanges. Right, should be easy yes? Not so! The strengthening flanges need to be formed around the front panel and the A panel. The originals - or what remains of them - appear to have been bodged on from the factory. No proper forming, just sections cut out so that the bend around into the front panel and A panel flanges. Absolutely no protection at all. Just some body sealer. Not surprising that they rusted away almost to oblivion. So I don't have a realistic idea of how much to cut away from the front panel or the A panel. The front subframe is out, so I won't know if I have taken off enough until the body is painted and fitted up. So, if anyone has a decent picture of the wings before and after, it would be a great help. I have the Mini Spares template but I have seen lots of posts that claim it to be unreliable. This is the last task before painting and I have been putting it off for long enough. I'm sure someone out there has done this before, so here's hoping!
