Looks good where did you get the etch primer from?

Hi mate I get it from a local paint shop. They deal in just paint for the automotive industry. It's really good, you mix it with its own activator, I found out today that its not only etch primer but also filler primer, it's very forgiving lol

Wow this thread is just 1 day old and we're already at page 6

Really nice reading, and you have some good skills,  good luck!!

PS: the 296 in a 7 porter is a pig to drive, i'd ask around for some opinions

Thank you. I'm open to any suggestions to be honest. I can strip and rebuild engines from plant machinery etc but I have never ventured into the realms of engine upgrading so its pretty new to me. I've rebuilt standard mini engines but never changed the cam or done head work etc

If you know how to build engines it will be easy to learn how to chioce cams valve size spring poundage and rocker geometries

Obviousely you'll need balancing, 'box upgrades and all the stuff

I've never built a 7 porter so cant say what will be the better choice, but if i were you i'd have a good chat with either SC and Arden and see what they're reccomending for your driving style

I know when the works car adopted 7 ports and a 649 cam (very similar to the 296) they were awful to drive, also because of the diff they used to run.

Cheers for the input fellas. I still have plenty of time to do research before the engine build takes place.

So just getting of the mini for 5min.

A while ago I picked up a little motorbike for my little lad. Only cost me £40 and just needed a little clean up and the seat re-shaping with a cutting disc because some had snapped off leaving sharp edges.

Anyway it's 6v rechargeable, it only goes about 3mph which is perfect as he's only nearly 4 and a petrol mini moto would have been to fast. I had to put stabilisers on it for him also lol.

Anyway the pictures tell all with this cheeky little re-build.

Cliff, this is the stonechip and gun that is required. Not 100% but I don't think this stuff goes through a normal gun.

I may be wrong Dave but you might find this will react horribly with the hammerite there are no paints known to man that don't!! the stonechip stuff is meant to be over painted with topcoat

Surely when its dry then you can apply this without reaction ?

It's been known to react a long time after many months I had a few problems with my stonechip reacted in a few places that had hammerite on months ago like the sill flutes. It's all I out how the solvents in the new paint break down the old paint causing the paints to mix in affect and react with each other

Not sure if I'm allowed to sell these here, if not then no problem i can delete them or admin can remove them.

I can't test to see if there working but when I bought them they were sold as working. I believe they only do SPI, if your local you are more than welcome to test them. Not sure what there worth but not wanting loads or anything stupidly low, just a air price. Anyway here's a few pics.

Just to clarify there is 3 in total, and selling all together.

Anyway back on topic.

A few things I bought a while ago from mini sport. Doesn't look much but the price was lol. These have been stored in the cupboards in the garage waiting to be fitted to the subframes and shell.

Not close to that yet and I don't have everything but I'm working through the list, no doubt like everyone else lol.
