Came upon this which may be of use

I can now confirm with 100% certainty that the most commonly used colour on BMC engines was British Standard Middle Bronze Green (BS 223). Some engines were painted in a darker green that I stongly believe to be Dark Bronze Green.

As paint questions come up quite often, is it worth making a paint 'sticky' for info like this?

It won't be sticky when it has dried though.

;D

PS Engines in some Hornets and Elfs were painted a much lighter shade, but I have no idea of the paint colour name or code.

I use a RAL paint code which means I can get a perfect match between paint and powder coat...

RAL6003

Used a lot in the Moggie fraternity as well as historic military

I brought a couple of Classic Car Colours rattle cans. This was back in 2000 though and still have a unused can knocking about.
Label reads BMC Green, EP3A BMC Engine Green M002033. Part number CCEP3A.
