Does POR15 have a rust killer in their range?
I have used the metal ready and rust prevention paint; but have never seen a rust killer?
Post a link of the product.

Isn't the por15 metal ready a rust treatment?
It just puts a zinc coating on the bare metal. I have tried it on surface rust and it does not remove it.
It says it does but it does not; on the Frost site "It is the ultimate in the relentless fight against rust. It not only dissolves away the rust it also etch primes the clean surface and leaves a Zinc Phosphate coating to prevent further rusting."

I used POR15 on mine and thought it was great. Effort to apply though and expensive, but the finish was quality and it really does leave a rock hard protective coating. Very hard to scratch or chip off.
Wear gloves if you use it. If you get it on your skin, you have to wait until your skin dies and falls off :/

Yes I discovered this too late. I could scrub most of the paint from my hands but up my arms was there for weeks.

Hydrate 80 is also the best rust converter i've used, their deox gel is also really good if your items are suitable for treating with it.
But if your applying POR15 you'll need to go back to metal anyway really, in which case you can grind any surface rust off and won't need a rust converter product.

Hmmmm thats strange. I've been using the metal ready for a few years now and I've never had a problem with it not removing surface rust :-/
Just out of curiosity I stripped a old door skin and give it one light coat of metal ready then left it out in the garden over winter
Here's what it looked like after 3-4 months

I wish it did that for me. I sprayed it on my inner wing and then washed off as per the instructions. It did nothing to the rust just put a light coat of zinc over it. ![]()
