Great picture.....................I need a time machine ;-)

Good spot on the Austin Minor van.

I can see an Austin Gypsy on the back row left.

The Mini Vans and Pickup appear to be in their wax coating with white tape on the bumpers and have over-riders fitted.

New cars back then were sprayed in a protective wax coating when they left the factory, which was removed by the dealer before they went on sale. This gave a matt finish as in the photo above until removed but protected the colour and shine underneath......remember old style paints were much easier to get damaged in transit or loose their shine than modern car paints of today. The chrome work like bumpers was also often protected from damage by adhesive tape type coverings.

Using a website, £475 in 1968 equates to £7,531 in todays money!

I remember having to take this off when I worked at Citroen along time ago

So cool, pictures like this always make me really jealous of the previous couple of generations that grew up driving proper cars rather than the boring ****-boxes everyone makes today.  And empty roads everywhere too!

If I needed a work van, I'd be sorely tempted to get a Mini Van as a marketing tool.

These are such nice pics, cant believe have things have changed price wise on cars its just mental! Wish someone in my family bought a load of those vans and pickups and stored them away for me!
