So much for regular updates! Ah well, better late than never!
Not really too much to report on, recently he car decided to randomly develop a starting problem, where it would just turn over for ages whilst trying to fire, but not actually start. First I replaced the fuel pump which made no difference, then while replacing the coil I managed to snap a few connectors that obviously weren't soldered properly, and after fixing those all seems to be well!... For now....
Anyway, the biggest thing was obviously managing to bag the cover of Minimag which I'm still bloody overjoyed with! Mum went mad and bought 10 copies, no joke. I was recently sent through all the photos from the shoot, so here are just a few of my favourites. I must admit the flash was a little harsh for my liking so you can see every imperfection on the car, but that's just me being picky. Matt did a fabulous job.
After that, I then revisited the idea of adding hubcaps to the steelies which I toyed with years ago, in fact I think theres a photo somewhere in the this thread where I tried them on but wasn't keen. This time around though, with the Force splits on the front as a contrast, I loved it!! Now I just wish I'd fitted them for the mag shoot!
They needed a bit of love, being original 1959 items, but they polished up rather well.
And now a few pics I took after fitting them when we had a brief moment of sunshine
Next up, my headlights have always been rubbish, so I wanted something a bit better. I've never been massively keen on angel eyes, and HID's seemed too much of a faff, so I actually went for some p700's which I love!!
I then made a significant splurge and got myself something I've really wanted for ages; a pair of KAD billet alloy front hubs with metro ball joints. They're lovely! AND NO MORE SHIMMING!!!
Got stuck in, they were easy enough to fit. They came with new bearings too. Ignore the brown, it's a mix of mud and waxoil, not rust, I promise
So other than that, I've just been using the car as much as I can when the weather permits! Went to a pretty decent meet in London not too long ago where I got to be part of the filming for the promotional video for the London Cartel International Autoshow. This is the finished video below, came out great!
This was then followed up by a show at Ace Cafe in the evening, where I managed to pick up a trophy for best wheels!!! So Chuffed!
That's about it for now, I'll be doing as many shows as I can this summer, including London to Brighton where I'll be in the show and shine section, so if you see me about come and say hi!

Nice work, the hubcaps really suit the car, and the p700's look great to.

Well this is a bit overdue! These updates are starting to become a yearly thing lol... I'm much more active over on Instagram these days, so if you want more regular updates hit me up there at @chris_rd92
So anyway, I have quite a lot to report on, mostly photos from shows. Last show season was an absolute MAD one, I was blown away with how well the car was received. I also managed to put about 2k miles on it in the space of about 5 months with hardly any problems at all, which is a testament to how good KAD are at building engines! I built this car to be driven, and that's exactly what I do with it. No trailer queen here!
Pictures speak a thousand words so here we go...
London to Brighton
Players Classic
Le Mans 24hr road trip
It was on this trip that I realised it was a mistake to heat wrap my manifold! It literally split into 3 pieces as I reached France. This meant I had to make the entire return journey with basically open headers... I've just about got my hearing back! I took this opportunity to treat myself to a nice Maniflow freeflow manifold.
Gravity show
Coventry Motofest
FittedUK
Stance Fever
Broke Boys at the Farm
London Cartel International Autoshow
Mini in the Park
I'm currently rebuilding the car yet again with a number of new additions and changes for this year. I'll hopefully put up a post soon showing some of the progress!
