I spy with my little eye,
Patchy brown stains you just can't deny,
Inside deep dish alloys of your Studio 2
Looking suspiciously smeary and crusty like....poo
Explaineth!?

Hi, just seen this great thread, fantastic progress, can't wait to see it at the next club meet (did you use the bonnet or was it too far gone?)

cheers for the comments guys! although im sure its brake dust
so after getting the car back i had a three day weekend to get the car secure and water tight.
Day 1.
pushed it up the drive and found it was suprisingly light weight! first think to put back in was the headlining which i thought was going to be a horrid job but it wasn't difficult at all. its good quality one from newton comms and after stretching it twice around the car i fixed it in place with double sided tape ready for the windows to be put in. the seals holding the headlining in in the above picture where just temporary.
At this point i tried getting the rear window in but lost enthusiasm with that job as the c-pillar trim wasn't fitting nicely behind the rubber seal! so i moved on to yet another stressful task of putting in the door winding window mechanism and locks. the first one was a challenge as i couldnt get the correct orientation to get the rails lined up but i have it sussed and the second door went together a treat :) then went to put the weather strips on but didnt have the clips so i moved to the back end which was lit up by the garage light and put the tank and lights on
this is how it looked after day 1
also built up the boot lid indoors although I might get the number plate lamp housing painted body colour to match the rest of the car. what do you think?
Day 2
each time i see the car i love the colour more and more :) so happy I kept it original and did the arches body colour too!
I got up early and put the exhaust on which fitted like a dream! minispares stainless downpipe and RC40 back box looking really good under the car! and fitted using the correct method rather than my old exhaust which was bolted directly to the rear subframe. also got the boot lid, bonnet and rear bumper on :) then i got rained on so that stopped progress for a bit but managed to sort some wiring inside the car whilst under the car cover i bought.
then i started working on the dash, soundedening and getting the heater plumbed in.
Day 3 came about and whilst nursing a hangover me and dad managed to get the screens in so it is now secure! then so many little things needed doing i cant remember them all but ive decided to use rivnuts for the front headlamps as the idea of using self tappers is giving me nightmares!
and that's how she looked before i had to disappear back to uni again. i tried to start her up on the off chance that she would run but no luck i think there isnt any fuel getting to the carb but i will have a look on friday when i get back.
cheers

Looking good mate.
I would say, paint the boot lamp housing body colour. That would look 10 times better IMO.
are you having the studio decals back on it?
