Jeroen, the shell will be solid around Christmas. We reach this goal together, we only need to mount the complete nose and the site panels. :highfive:

Finely I am able to do something again so that's what I did this weekend.

Both inner wings are gone now and replaced both of the closing panels on the cross member, I started on the left inner wing butt I need the front sub-frame rubbers first to get the front panel on in the right position.

Made some pictures for you guys to see what I'm doing

Test fitted the new wing, fitment isn't that bad actually.

After two weekends of work both of the inner wings are fully welded and fitted. Had to cut the top lip off where the wing mounts of in both sides. It wasn't even close to get the wing on properly. Really making progress now and I am looking forward to a complete front end. Of course I made some pictures along the way.

Made some good progress this weekend and finisht the scuttle panels on booth sides, after that I made some new top sections on the inner wings because the originals weren't even close and completely wrong. The complete front end is welded on now.

Its been a long time since I updated this project, but we didn't stop working on it. The rusty bonnet that I had was stripped down to only the outer skin. We discovered that the fitment was terrible at first, so I welded the bonnet in place and started too make the panel gaps that I wanted. After that the whole inner reinforcement cross panel was modified to the new shape that the skin had and also prepped for the special hood pins we had in mind. It still need some filler work cause of al the welding but it is a lot better then before.

After all the work with the bonnet was done, I looked at the sills and thought that is was probably a good idea to gif the side of the mini some more strength. I did this with a 40x2mm tube inside welded to the body at the roll cage mounts. Nice thing about this is that the outer sills still fit like the should.

After the sills I finisht the bottom side of the inner front fenders. It didn't follow the floor when we fitted the new front end. After a bit of work it came out allot better.

When the car is finisht it will run on 13x7 minilights with sportpack arches, That combo doesn't look right when you have 5'' between the tire and the wheel arches. Because I wanted to prevent unnecessary tire rub on the body tubbing the rear fenders was the only option. So we did that also.

Roll cage mounts are also welded in the body at the front and the rear. We while start to bend some tube in the next couple weeks to make a 6 point roll cage.

The body is pretty solid now, only thing left are the two big original Van side panels and some detail repair work. Had the sportpack arches laying around for almost a year now an had to see how the looked, so I fitted two of them today and really like them so far

Yes that's correct. They are standard fiberglass sportpack arches. Front should fit without any problems, the rear arches need some small trimming to fit like the should. the Van and the Estate body is allot straighter in the rear so the tail light side of the rear arches sticks out a lot more then normal. I don't want that so I still have some work to do.  But you can make them work with a little trimming.

The bonnet gap trick you've done seems to work well!
