Hi, I have been thinking of fitting my ipad into my centre console but have never got round to doing it but now it is done :) I have moved my head unit to the side of my centre console in the passenger footwell out the way, got rid of the heater as it was horrendous any way, I'm going to get some 12v kit car heaters soon.

It is wired in via the dock I made to the head unit so it plays through the speakers and charges at the same time.

I thought about doing something like this a while ago. I really like it, but I decided that it wasn't really worth spending out on an iPad just for this. If I already owned one, It'd be straight in!

Agreed ^

Is it permanently fixed, or can you remove it?  Having it on display like that would worry me to bits haha

looks good - does it not get quite warm down there?

I've had this idea for a while (with a different tablet and car!) I've completely removed my headunit, so it's just tablet to amp to speakers, hopefully when the centre console gets done it will allow the tablet to be removed (for security)

Yeah very easy to remove just slides in and down onto the dock, wen the screen is off it's hardly noticeable, just looks like a black sheet of plastic lol, I'm on my ipad now in my kitchen :)
