I own a 69 Austin mini, right hand drive.  I have had the generator/dynamo shocked to negative earth/ground.  I would like to convert the original voltage regulator to some sort of electronic alternative which would be more reliable.  I have had a friend with a bugeye sprite  and another with an mg midget who have had their starter motors cooked/fried by a faulty voltage regulator.

Does anyone know if any of the UK or USA suppliers have an electronic version available, or does anyone know of a circuit which has been created allowing me to make my own electronic alternative?  I am putting away the mini for the winter in a few weeks (Chicago area) and could use a winter project when the temp is zero F.
