Hello we are just finishing off a part buily r1 mini, will get some pictures up soon but have a few questions, i think the radiator that z cars use is from a fiat ut does anyone know which one?
Has anyone else who is using r1 engines used an oil cooler? and also what fuel pump have you used?

Thanks for any help, were just goin to start plumbing in the brakes clutch fuel and water lines then goin to start the wiring, will get some updates soon

Cheers, Jacko299

The radiator if off a fiat uno if i remember rightly?

The R1 engine already has an integral oil cooler which seems to be fine as I haven't seen one with a seperate oil cooler and generally haven't had any temperature problems at all.

I can't remember what fuel pump Pete and I used I'll have a look and see if i can find the receipts.

Good luck with the project. Is this the purple one from e-bay?

hi There,

as someone else said, the R1 already has an oil cooler.

I thought the radiator was from a Polo??? could be wrong on that.

What engine have you got, injection or carb? I used a Rover V8 injection pump (cheap off ebay) and a Ford focus injection filter. For a carb'ed R1 I'd use one of the Facet low pressure pumps coupled with a fuel regulator.

hope that helps,

Rads used to be from fiat uno's but now they use vw one's so it depends on which style subframe you've got. If the top mounting holes face front to back then you need the vw one. If they point down then it's the fiat one.
We used a bosch fuel pump with seperate filter but we are running injection engines.Any pump will do as long as it runs at least 45psi. Can get the parts numbers if it helps. Don't know about the carb versions. Dale (r1minimagic) would be the man to ask.

The engine is a 2004 injection so if it is possible could we have the product number of the bosch pump? Think the front subframe we have is for the polo radiator, do you now what model or engine size polo radiator they use?

Has anyone had any experience with the etb digidash lite or pro? were thinking of getting one of these to replace all the other gauges and wonder if they are simple to install and use.

we've got to get the garage sorted first befor anything can be done, the other 67 cooper is in there needing some work aswell and any ohter space is full so bit of a pain to work in, will try and get some pictures of the stage we are at so far.

cheers for the help, jacko299

Don't know what the rad fits because all it says on the box is vw. It's made by NRF (www.nrf.nl) and part number is 00529501.
Bosch fuel pump is part number 0580464070. Came from Burton Power along with the fuel filter(part number fsebulleta6). Hope this helps.
