Well the Hornet 'quick touch up' has turned into a semi restoration, but without the welding!
Van inching it's way into the welding shed; meantime a couple of pictures of the Hornet progress (it's all good painting practice!)

Right; just back from a long weekend at the Nurburgring in my lad's 998 mini. Managed to set a few sub 8 minute laps (as if) and got 15 minutes on the GP Circuit too.
Best crack on with the van now, with only a few weeks to L2B and his driving test on 7th May, so best get the van MOT'd just in case I have nothing to drive!
Will post some pictures up as we progress. First steps will be to get it up in the air and start chopping out the old floor(s).

Stripped off the front and rear doors and remaining interior ready to wheel it into the garage tomorrow.
Hope fully this picture shows you what we are up against!

It`ll soon be underway when in the welding shed mate, Looking forward to seeing its progress

Popped over to see my mate after work. He wheeled it into the garage this afternoon and after a bit of angle grinding and plasma cutting it's now completely wrecked
What we have found so far: heel board not TOO bad; will probably replace both end sections but have a complete one just in case. Rear subrframe seems fine, so will need a clean and paint and new bearings, and a pair of rear shocks as one is shot.
With 3 days this weekend and next we should be well on the way to having it close to an MOT, with L2B looming; Won't look pretty, but at least then it will then be a rolling restoration rather than the pile of scrap that's been siting outside my house for the last 6 months!
