Yet another issue found yesterday when putting the mini back together. My Aston style petrol cap will not fit in the hole in the bodywork? Do I need to file the hole?
Thanks

Yes, I have one and it just goes over the neck of the tank. Then put the locking cap on then close the Aston lid.

Oh, I see. I thought it went though the hole in the car. I guess I'll need a rubber seal for around the petrol tank neck.
Is this what I need?

Rubber seal cheaper at Minispares

Just trying to put the Aston Style petrol cap on... the cap itself fits on, but it doesnt fit with the locking cap in it as well. The rubber seal around the tank seems a little uneven so it doesnt allow for it to fit on properly. is there a (easy) solution to this?
thanks

Easiest way, just don't fit it .
The tank may just need a wiggle to push the neck through a bit more and the rubber moving a bit.

Reposition the shiny wotsit slightly higher up the neck..... or fit an OE spec tank cap.... or best plan get rid of it - all nice & temporarily shiny but generally a pain to live with!
