I have been with them probably 20 years, currently got 4 insured with them.

my daughter is a new driver in her first year of insurance and they were literally thousands cheaper than anywhere else.

I claimed for my clubby when a lorry slammed me into a central reservation and they paid to have my car repaired locally without hassle.

so I think from my experience they are good

Adrian Flux have been great from my personal experience, although I've not tried to renew/re-insure just yet!! I think their main selling point to me was their modification deal in which they allow you to modify your vehicle in any way, shape or form as long as it doesn't directly effect the BHP! This way you don't need to continuously update them with your mods unless it makes you go faster.

Secondly, they allowed me to become insured on my 1985 Mini Mayfair although I'm under the preferred age for classic car owners, with which they did not charge extra. This was all done in a very short space of time too which made my experience even better.

I'm going to attempt to re-insure my mini after having 2 months grace between my renewal date and now, so fingers crossed it's as painless as before!

Phoned AF for a quote today, having used them many years ago.  I put the phone down when the guy doing my personalised quote suggested a stage 1 tune on a 998cc classic mini was an ECU remap....  understand what you're underwriting and you'll get more respect.  Never had that problem back in the 90's/00's with them.

Lancaster Insurance sorted me out in the end, faultless experience, £92 all in.

I got a renewal of £2700 with them for 3rd party f&f. I then went onto go compare to find that 10 other companies can do fully comp for less >_< So i go back to them and give them the quotes, and they magic off a grand XD i mean, are they genuinely making up numbers! and im sure there job is to search for the best, not just sit there and give you the first company to hit there desk, and hope you do the leg work.

They lost my details into the aether. They miss filled in my previous accidents... well my named drivers and then threatens cancelling the policy for it. They were generally rude to me from it. They were the most unhelpful customer service people ever met. And they got confused that it was a mini from pre 02, when i explained that it was a "classic mini" not a new one, and said its a Rover Mini Cooper. He says in a moody way "Well then is it a Mini or a Rover". When I said its a rover mini he had a small strop at me, collogue who was no more knowledgeable of one of the best known classic cars around, despite specialising in classics.

They have one saving grace is that for my 1st year they were £3000 when others were £5000 or wanting a black box.

Personally, I would avoid Adrian Flux. Last 2 years I have been paying nearly £800 on TPFT with unlimited mileage and all mods declared. My insurance was due the other day but apparently AF were happy to renew my insurance without even telling me, even texting me saying that they tried to take the money out my account a few days before the renew was due but was declined because I had insufficient funds?! I never signed up for them to just assume they could renew it without my consent, I even remember the year before telling them I would call them up if I wanted it renewed to which they agreed. Luckily I had little money in my account for them to just take it, rang them up and asked for a quote whilst I was asking them not to renew automatically. They quoted me the same price (minus about £50) from the last quote I was paying! Even when I tried to barter, they wouldn't budge claiming that "that's the best our underwriters can do". Needless to say, I cancelled my renewal and asked for my 2 years no claims certificate to be sent to me, to which they happily agreed which was a surprise. Rang around and found Diamond (yep, they insure blokes) were cheapest! Nearly half of what I was paying at AF and fully comp with all mods declared too! Result! No idea how AF make their money claiming those figures!

@Moggyton

Do you have affiliation with AF? Are they paying you at all?

Very few positives for the company and plenty of negatives. A generalisation of all parties responses would be not to use them just in case you ever have to claim.

They are your best friends if you keep giving them money and never claim. Hell I could start an insurance company like that.

My new company will be called Antony Fail.

We will give you the best possible quotes around, Guaranteed!

We will have a 100% pre accident satisfaction guarantee (no refunds)

No payment accident return compensation guarantee.

Personal injury payment retention plan

All calls will be monitored and lost if you need them but found if we can use them against you.

I have used flux since I started driving. Never had any issues. Even when I rolled my old cooper.in a ditch. I have always found them very nice to deal with. Either that or I'm lucky to get the helpfull ones on the phone.

Another one for being stuffed around by them.

Long story short, had laid up insurance with them for many years.  I called a number of times to change the agreed value and update that i had moved abroad - no problems.  Then after installing the engine and suspension the value went up dramatically over night - as before i called up to change the agreed value.  They suddenly needed loads of photos and agreed value forms filled out - never been asked for before.  But ok - i did as they asked and got photos taken and filled everything out and sent off - which they lost at least 4 times.  After finally receiving everything, they came back saying they needed even more including pics of the car with the number plates on(for laid up insurance?!).  I explained that it was a little difficult as i was living abroad and couldnt get the extra photos or get my parents to buy number plates - they "went away" to chat to a manager.  Came back very formally explaining that my insurance was cancelled.  As i didnt live in the uk and hadnt told them! Which i had and they had sent me renewals to my address abroad.  I was then left with a very valuable car sitting in a lockup that was uninsured! When asked why it was a problem - they came back with that i wasnt there to check on the car regularly.  When explained that the lockup was actually my parents double garage that they used also for their daily drive, so the car was check on everyday.  They put the phone down.  I was willing to pay whatever premium they came up with - but they just wouldnt have any of it.  I understand they have rules etc, but i had informed them a number of times, and even when taking out the policy of my circumstances - to be suddenly left with 20k of investment uninsured.

Needless to say i wont be using them again, or recommending them!
