Most bodyshop suppliers. Applied it looks a lot like the kind of finish the new BMH shells have. If you paint over it within a certain time it needs no further preperation and is kind of self flatting so its good all over the car. But if you leave it longer it forms a really good, hard coat. Much more waterproof than regular primer. I think it's salt spray tested as well. You'll have to check how it welds with the bodyshop though, because I don't know if it's designed for use before assembly.

Cheers Dan ill look into paints, i could always spray the inside of the cills with the same paint as the rest of the shell, that would be nice and hard.

the cills were filled with expanding foam

I read some where that the really early minis had the cavities filled with some kind of expanding foam in the factory, but this got stopped due to the fire hazard and water holding properties.

Yeh i read that somewere to. I thought it was factory to start with but they stopped doing it in the early 60's and my pickup is a 76. :D

Ok i finished off the new inner cill/floor today and for my first ever repair i think it looks ok, what you think?
I havent put the outer cill on yet as i need to repair the load bed corner which will be easier with it off.

goo dlooking work man keep it up and whatever you do keep at it....if you take a month or so off the hardest part will be picking up at it again....keep at her and before you know it will be looking ace again.

I havent stopped Al, my parents just went on holiday with the digital camera. They came back late last night, so heres an update.
Here is a view of the half floor ive finished and the hole which the other one left.

When i removed the inner a panel the bulkhead behind just crumbled away.

yeh its much easier but still a bit of a pain. I got the new floor last week so hopefully ill get that in this week.

WOW! i cant w8 to get a picup!! :grin: can u put bucket seats and stuff in em? when did they stop making them? i noticed they all have outa door hindges so im gessing it was in the MK1 era then they stopped it?
