It has a collar which you feed over the fuel tank neck and tighten the grub/allen screws. Then put on the cap, the seals will seal the cap to the neck. I believe with the Monza type you don't use the old filler cap....whereas the Aston type it attaches to the old cap rather than the filler neck.

ah that's weird. Does the collar have any holes and therefore the grub screws are missing out of the set?

Might be worth giving Minisport a ring and enquire.

Mine just shoved on, was sufficiently snug to stay in place, course wouldn't stop it being nicked easily. My Aston style one came with grubs.

Mine was interference fit, had to warm the collar up to expand and then lock it on with a rubber mallet. The only problem was lining up the thread so it would tighten into the right position.

This is the MiniSpares one - http://www.minispare...monza.aspx|Back to search

And the one from your link above states "Monza Chrome Petrol Cap including Tank Adapter" so I guess you need that brass collar sent to you thats fitted as above.

as it says really........................I heated my brass collar up in water and then tapped it over the neck with a rubber maul

make sure you have enough filler tank neck protruding to do this........think it was 10mm ish      ie the depth of the brass adapter at least..    older minis have this protudence  but later minis are a little less I think

Resurection of an old thread, but I was researching fitting a Monza cap. Nothing's ever simple is it!

Does anyone know if you can remove the tank with the brass ring in place? It looks like the diameter isn't huge, so might go through the hole in the body work? I know you need every mm when trying to manouver the neck and tank in place, so does this make it impossible?
