Hi everyone.

Last year was such a good event that we've put an entry in this year and figured some TMF'ers would like to come along and see some very nice cars thrashing it around the test venues.

You will see everything from Porsche 911's, Triumph Dolly Sprints, to MK1 Escorts and of course mini's....and my favourite....60's Alfa Romeo's and Lancia's!!!!!

Here is a photo taken at Beeston Cattle market from last years event to give you an idea of what's on offer......

CheshireHistoricCarRally2013-9small_zpsc

Loads of different venues for the tests, but please don't ask me where they are as I don't know - I find out on the day as it would be cheating if i knew the route beforehand.  But I would guess that Beeston Cattle Market will be used as it's a cracking venue and scutineering is there on the friday.

Mr Cooperman will be joining us with his Ecurie Cod Fillet rally legends crew manning marshall points, and they look like they have more fun than the stressed out crews do.

For more info, check out....

Hi there.  Yeh, the speccy info doesn't go live until the night before the event...reason being that if you could see it now - then so could I, and then i'd know where we where going...kinda poor form on an event like this.

If it's anything like last year, we'll be going to Beeston Cattle market 3 times  so worth going there.  We also went to an old tile factory in Delamere forest but the speccy points were limited and not too good - was a brilliant test to drive though.  First test was about 10 ish, then just before lunch, then late afternoon at Beeston.  You could get to the start venue on the day and ask for speccy info then...will have times and locations etc.

I know that this year there is a new test venue...but i don't know any more than that....sorry.

Spectating is free on events like this, so park up (not in the way of course) and watch some very valuable machinery go round.  At beeston there is a cafe too so you can get a brew...assuming it'll be open on the day (it was last year).

Sorry I can't give you more info, but these events are very much navigation orientated so the route is kept well hush hush until the day...then all hell breaks loose - navigation wise at least!

You could always email the Clerk of the Course of the event as they may give you a few test venues to spectate at.

Best to turn up at the start, which is listed on the Knutsford & Dist. M.C. 'Tour of Cheshire' web site (Google 'Tour of Cheshire 2014), well before the first car starts. You could, of course, offer to marshal or go with another marshalling crew and help them at their control. There are two types of basic control, the ones at start/finish of the special tests and the ones on the road regularity sections.

Ignore the website's aesthetics and get along to the event...well worth it and not far at all from Chester.

Hi
Looking to go to the beeston bit. Noobie question now. What are the tests it mentions? Is it as good as rally bit or should I look to view elsewhere. I am in wigan so pass oulton park on way. Would it be better there?
Thanks

Tests are the good bit, where the cars can stretch their legs :)

On rallies like these...the main bit of the rally is stuff called regularity - which in on public roads at low speeds (so a bit boring) and is more a test of navigation and driving at a constant speed (not that easy).

The tests are blasts around open spaces to specific routes, timed to the second.....google autosolo and you'll get the idea.  These are the interesting bits to watch.

There is also a few tests at Delamere if you can find you way to the old marley tile works.

Don't bother heading to Oulton park...no test there which is a shame. We do go round the roads near it, but at slow speed.
