Oh what a build! Car looks good.

Always good to keep in the wife's good books, while doing something you love haha

Very interesting, mainly because I am planning a vvc swap, or in other words have started collecting parts for a vvc swap.

Interesting to see you've binned the metro frame and gone for the mini one, I always dislike the extended track of the metro frame and is why I have also chosen to stick with a modified mini frame.

In regards to your mini frame, are you mounting your tie rods once you have the majority of the frame sorted? One of my concerns is altering the geo of the tie rods and effecting the subframe in some way, that and also wheel or brake caliper fouling on them. I have considered building a jig up to represent the tie arms original mounting points, is that something you have considered?

I assume you intend to squeeze this all in under a standard round nose?

I eagerly await your progress and best of luck!

Nice quick progress with this. What shade of pink does your missis want?

Hopefully quite a dark shade as that actually looks fantastic in my opinion.

Good luck

Ben

You have made a good start there. ;D

I'd like to add a couple of things I'd consider before you go much further. First is gearing. If that's the standard VVC gearbox the ratio's are too low for 13" wheels or smaller. I'd swap the gearbox from the C4, for a C6. I ran a C4 and it was awful at 70mph or faster as it revved at 4200rpm up.

Second is fitting a brake servo. It is possible to run the Rover servo but move it to the left hand side of the car by making a link bar across the bulkhead. It's also possible to use a remote one, but you need to allow space for it. Either will keep the brakes adequate to cope with extra power.

I look forward to seeing you about once it's done.

p.s. Are you planning to go to the Blackpool Totally Transport day? I might go on the run myself... ;D
