All i need is the cam so it can be put back together. so then it releases other stuff like finishing the mani but putting the engine in to check clearance. I should have roughly like 15mm space once i move the actuator. plus things like intercooler. this is what the manifold is looking like now

Block has been pocketed and crank and fly been balanced. Bought another oil feed as the last one was wrong. Buying some rose joints to make some engine steadies. Nothing in the way of pictures to be honest. Im ready to start putting the engine together in a couple weeks when I'm back home. Still looking for a cam. Once I've got that it can be fully put together. list so far of parts.

Plenum

mani

fuel reg

block

head

thrusts

engine mounts

new water pump

Special plugs

Parts still to get just need to order (stuff of the shelf):

oil pump

cam followers

double valve springs

Vernier duplex

Intercooler

boost gauge

boost bleeder

piping

Fuel pump

Tacho

oil temp gauge

indicator wiring

Stuff to look for:

Cam (mg metro, 266 or a sw5)

Hif 44 turbo carb or non to convert

GT1752 mounting plate for mani

Things to make:

Exhaust

engine steadies

Catch tank or just breathers

Oil return for turbo

To weld:

Rear seat

rest of mani

rocker cover

possibly an arch

Looks like Alfa Laval "dairy tube" - to be honest I think it's a bit thin to have a turbo hanging off it.

If it's the same stuff as shown in your photo with a vernier next to it, either it ain't 3mm thick or you've been sold a dodgy vernier. :-)

Either way - up to you, I think you may find that sags/cracks after a while unless you brace the turbo up somehow.

As the man said in the last post - a bit of schedule 40 might be better - it' will give you about 3.9mm wall thickness :-)

its what has been suggested by many people and others on the turbo mini forum who have lots of experience. The down pipe is a saab item, serving its exact purpose. I know there are many higher quality stainless materials but they are up for the job, and are also the right dimensions and perfect bends so perfect for me

its 3 pieces. search for M I J exhausts. I think its from them. But if not just look for 38mm stainless 90 degree and t-piece. loads of them about. Get a decent size wall like 3 mm or more.

its been a while a slight change in plan still going turbo but at a later date. Going n/a to run it in as its had loads of new internals etc. All electrics are done got my hazards working for the first time in 2 years, which is a plus. Ive just been going round tiding up the car and all the electrics. Just finishing up all the stuff i need to do before MOT. Of course when the engine is in ill post some pictures up later. Don't worry hasn't stopped yet
