I've rigged up a by pass from my heater takeoff and through the heated inlet manifold and then back into the lower hose just before the pump. The heater is fed off this as well, there's a flow restrictor just before the inlet manifold to encourage water to the heater. My thinking is that it'll be flowing water from the hot end of the head the whole time. Probably wont work properly! Pictures on my project thread.

I struggled with the sandwich plate. it left the thermostat outlet hose slightly higher than the top of my radiator, causing a bit of an airlock issue.

Might be difficult as my A+ head hasn't got the fittings ... nor has my new water pump obviously ;-)Nice timing gear by the way. What make?
It's from med
And oh right okay if not don't worry about a byepass

I've still got to work out the coolant hoses as I've now got a heated inlet to plumb in ... plus head doesn't yet thermostat housing so I'll look at the sandwich, etc.
