I'm a noob when it comes to Mini's so wait for some advice of the experts on here, but what is the panel and where did it come from? Is it a RH front Sill pre fitted to an inner sill with a bit of floor?

I bought non genuine outer sills and will be making my own inner sills.

Search this forum for similiar repairs to get some ideas.

Also had a job viewing your pics and trying to work out what parts you had photo'd , how have you attached them? I use Photobucket and the post in the Direct Link seems to work.

Looks like rot in all the common places :-)

Good luck, nice to see projects get underway and save such an iconic British car, the Mini is like Fish and Chips and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace a piece of our heritige albeit one that is very prone to rust - good old British Car Manufacturing!!!

It is possible to do without removing the rear pocket but to be honest if you are not replacing the rear quarter panel or doing a repair to the lower section of the quarter then i would remove it.

The spot welds where the inner sill attaches to the inner sill stiffener are very difficult to get to plus the front flange of the companion bin covers several spot welds for the inner sill.

Have a look at this thread to see what i did with that particular panel
