Damn Short Wheel Studs

Don't know why but the rear wheel studs that came with my Z-Cars kit are to short.  They do not protrude past the lug nuts.  On some American tracks you would not pass tech with non protruding studs.

And to press out the old studs and press in new ones you have to completely disassemble the rear swing arm bearings, 

UNLESS!

I cut a bit of the head off the old stud, so it would clear the bearing housing.  Pounded them out, got new longer studs with smaller heads and with a very small amount of sanding on one side I was able to insert them past the bearing housing and pull them in place.

Now I'm legal!

That's what I do to all my rd &race mini's. I have raced for 7 yrs without any problems with it. You just have to be careful of the type of studs you use. I only use the studs that have a domed end in them if that makes any sence.
