Hi everyone, I've just had my mayfair back from the body shop and I have a couple of issues with the finish. I'm yet to speak to the guy and thought I would do some homework before I go back. He's a stand up guy so it shouldn't be a problem but you never know.

Issue one: cloudy mark on paint. Almost as though there is a residue that hasn't been polished off before clear coat applied.

Issue two: tiny, almost pin marks in the paint over an area of about 3 square inches.
I'm doing this on my phone so as soon as I figure out how, I will shove some photos up. Any help would be most appreciated

The pin holes could be silicone reacting with the paint.

See what he says

Thanks for the reply, I try and avoid asking silly questions but where does silicon come into the process?

It shouldn't, but is in loads of products.

Silicon is a painters worst enemy

The pin holes look like they may be in the filler!

Lack of prep!

The cloudy bit just needs polished I think!

The pinholes look to be from filler, which hasnt been red puttied, the other mark look to be a burn in the laquer from polishing... id take the car back to the painter to fix the faults (two easy repairs tbqh)

Them pin holes are most certainly in the primer/filler and have been painted over, because they have used a clear over base system this shows up any minor imperfections, as for that cloudy mark, it looks like they have caught it with the DA when flatting and polishing, it should polish out if it is that. From the pictures i am 99% certain.
