Whilst working on my mini the other day I came up with a solution and was quite pleased with myself.

I had changed the door checks not too long ago yet my doors still like to close themselves even on the slightest of inclines. Not wanting to always park nose downhill I fetched 2x bungee cords out of my boot and attached them as in the photo.

A quick cheap and easy way to keep your doors open when working on the inside of your car.

Anybody else got a different solution?

Err, fix the checkstraps! Mk 3 and later cars should have no trouble keeping their doors open.

I replaced the check straps with brand new ones a while back and still not great at keeping it's doors open. Is there anything else to replace that could help?
