Hi I just brought some new cobra seats and universal subframes. The subframe holes don't line up so you can only get the three bolts in and then the runners are really tight and the handle is catching on the seat. Can anyone recommend a good subframe to use. Don't want to bolt seayts direct to the floor. Ta

Give Merlin Motorsport a ring. They keep in stock Genuine Cobra seat mounts designed for Mini when fitting a Cobra base mounted seat. It sounds like the mounts you have bought are not genuine Cobra ones, more like universal ones (that clearly dont fit!).

Given that they don't fit and the holes don't line up it sounds to me exactly like you have genuine Cobra frames! Their stuff has very poor quality control. If the release handle hits the seat that is a real problem, but if it clears then you just need to file the holes a bit usually. Make them slightly oval inline with the runners, and use mushroom headed cap screws. Mini specific frames will be better than universal though, as they will hinge and lock properly.

The frames I have got are the ones which have the handle. Mini spares do some which is a full bar you pull up to adjust. They be bout 120 for the pair. Will give the filing a go first.

Bear in mind you won't be able to return them if they've been filed.
