Had a couple of quotes today.
It seems that the adviser on the other end of the phone simply types the info into a computer, then that generates a quotation price.
Im declaring absolutely everything so that there can be no argument if this case ever occurs.
I have been declined from two large classic insurers due to modifications. At the end of the day its still a mini that im wanting to be honest about.
Whats seems to be the biggest problem is a change from 998 to 1293cc. questions were asked about brakes being uprated after i stated the engine swap. Do they think that due to the 998 to 1275 change requires better brakes? Anyone had this experience, is up rating brakes a good thing for insurance.
Also stating that i have different arches (group2 narrow) seemed to make them ask questions. Do they think they are massive flare arches?
Should i state just a Stage 1 kit, or break it down into individual components (exhaust, manifolds etc)?
Also i was asked `was the engine fitted by a professional` (i fitted it, but i know its definitely correct)
Is there any insurers who really do specialise with minis and can sympathy with us?
Cheers
