Other than a question of scale, what is the difference between one guy hanging on to a single mini in the hope that one day he will be able to get around to restoring it, and another guy hoarding dozens with the same idea?

This is still a - relatively - free country.  You own something, it's yours to do with what you will.  Long may that remain so.

But the thing is, they are a mini specialist company, in terms of business surely it's costing them to be there, they have no space and quite a bit of cash tied up, just a pretty poor business model in my mind.
It just seems a waste to me That 5 years ago when I offered to buy a car they didn't sell, and now it's worth less than half the value and will need a lot of work to even get road worthy!

Agreed, you might well see it as a poor business model and doubtless one you could improve on, but from the sound of it they have been in business for a number of years and are still operating at a level they are comfortable with.

Just have to accept that we live in a very diverse world.

Yeah I agree it's a shame.

I was in there Saturday to buy a fuel filter and it took the guy a while to find the one I wanted, in amongst all the stuff in the small shop!!

However he and his wife are always helpful, but, yes, you come out of the shop and look around at all those rusting cars and it does seem such waste.

They appear to concentrate more on the Mini shows and his wife was saying how expensive it was to trade at these shows and how most of them were a long distance away, and how they'd like the Mini Cooper day at Beaulieu to be a 2 day event....of course I agreed!!!!!

I was parked not far from a rotting Mk1 woody estate...oh and getting back out onto the main road is a nightmre as there's nowhere to turn round!!!

Cheers, Steve.

Their website says that they have "pre owned minis for sale stock changing daily"....does that mean they replace the empty space on the forecourt once they swept the old one away....

I don't know the area but I've just been looking on Google Earth and Streetview and I can't see anything that looks like a load of Minis. Lots of tree cover around where the Minis R Us pointer is located though.
