Your posting this on the basis the owner might see this topic and actually do something about it? Has he at anytime up until now? You were parked outside his premises (rain or not) but better than to tell him there and then to sort himself out you do it on here? why not when you where there?

C'mom seriously, we all love minis but its his choice, his business his call, if you feel that strongly after five years and are there just pop in and say something, why post it on here?

GC's is kinda the same thing, I told him when I was looking I thought he had them priced a little on the high side and that a few were just rotting away so how can he justify asking that price (they did have some very nice ones though) he said if you don't want it you don't want it but I'm still gonna be here selling them - he still is 6 years later

I don't know how big minis-r-us are but GC is massive and as as I know he is still selling - his business his choice

I don't think anyone here is hell bent on making this guy see sense.

we are just having a conversation about what a shame it is to see so many of them being wasted in this way.

But that said, plenty of owners buy a mini to restore and leave it sitting on the drive for years untouched before scrapping it so its the same really i suppose.

My Mini's previous owner had it sat in his front garden for years where it suffered vandalism and by the time i removed it, the garden had grown right up and buried it so it could barely be seen from the road. It still took a lot of convincing to get him to sell it even though he would probably never have done anything with it.

Ben

Yeah I can see what your saying, however

"I hope that the owner sees this and bucks his ideas up a bit"

"Do the right thing and give these cars another chance"

"Im not sure what else i can do to try and save these cars"

Errr pop in and have a word rather than sitting outside? If he's not interested then take that as a sign, simple really

I have popped in a number of times but he just doesn't seem intersted in either selling or breaking them! I just don't really get the logic!

Reminds me of my wife and her shoe collection!  Sorry, a bit random - but sometimes there is just no convincing someone that if they shifted kit it could be beneficial in the long term - now where's that bridge to get in my bedroom!

Got bored, had a nose around today... It really is weird there, lots of mk1's etc just left to rot, some with no windows/doors, but still the original interiors.. there's piles of bits just left about, mk1 shells chucked up the end on their side with stuff all over them, land rovers, recovery trucks etc etc

And I found this weird? A MK1 mini, but the tax disk from something else?

They've been there years, not really sure what's happening with them to be honest, but it's not really any of my business either! I just thought I'd snap some photos whilst I was near by to update this thread
