First thing i want to sort is the engine.. i want to give it a clean bill of health, it struggled to do anything over 60 last night on way home before a lorry soaked it and had to get it recovered home??
It was running this morning but does struggle to catch and start
used no oil or water last night on the way home,
beginning of last year it had new dizzy cap, rota and leads its also been sat a while.
so i am thinking
oil, filter, air filter, dizzy cap, rota leads, plugs
also check the timing, what is the timing supposed to be and easy to check?,
I have always done my own work on cars, but first tiem with a carb (i'm usually under a jap car) but wanting to learn
what else do i need to check and how? any help for how to do a general tune up would be great..
Also when it is in D or any gear the revs drop so low it trys to cut out, should i just raise the idle, if so how?
