thread revival !!
So, after never getting round to it - saving up and a bill coming in etc etc I decided to make another start.
Then my wife decided we needed that bigger house, so we saved, bought the bigger house and the mini was about to be started again ..... and I snapped an Achilles’ tendon ??‍♂️ So an operation and 18 months later let’s get this bloody mini out the garage.
She’s been sat here talking to my motorbike and an old tumble drier

I secured some decent space at a pals garage alongside his resto project - a 1990 Lancia Prisma HF Integrale - we will help each other as needed.
So here’s Doris out for the first time in 4 years on a pals truck ready for round 3 .......

And here’s where she will live for a bit

So I’ve made a quick start - spent a few hours pulling the donkey and assessing the way forward

That’s all for now - keep y’all posted ??

Hey guys & girls.
So, been doing a few hours here and there on Doris. It’s really great to be working on her after such a big break in between (facepalm)
So, I’ve been getting on with the bulkhead mainly as it was rotten along the top as per the typical usual mpi shell, the aim was strength but it wasn’t all that pretty. I’m far from being a great welder sorry !!
Anyway - here’s a little progress ......

You can see I’ve cut out the rot and just welding in new metal to form the lip

And an end bit

The windscreen has leaked and had rotted the top dash rail and A post, I patched it up to the new dash top. I wish I’d repaired the A post first but for some reason I diddnt. I’ll tidy this up some more but luckily it’s hidden under the dash itself.

And the dash top as fitted

I’ve done some repair work to the o/s inner sill and replaced the inner A post, today I’ve fitted the scuttle. I’ve only had it ready to fit for about 5 years.......meh !! So far, it’s all 100% heritage panels.
Still need to weld in the edges but it’s in !!

More to follow. Thanks for looking :D

I tried to use Magnum Scuttle repair panels for the ends of the scuttle and ended up throwing them in the bin!! Bought a heritage and it went in silky smooth :-)

Stick with heritage or M-machine if you can! Great work though mate.
