Guys, I am very happy to introduce you to my new Mini! For now it's called Feta (Greek cheese)

It is a 1966 Mk1 Morris Mini Minor Super Deluxe, and has moved from Athens, Greece to Belgrade. It's been quite a journey to pick it up, and i believe it was well worth it!

It has some work done, Cooper S brakes is the main upgrade, SU electric petrol pump and some smaller mods, but otherwise it's quite stock. Hydrolastic - about to be replaced with dry suspension, as it's quite tricky to keep the hydro working properly especially here in Serbia, plus i have all i need for great dry setup - GAZ and red spot cones from minispares along with new front arms, a new rear subframe and rebuilt arms...

The engine is stock 850 with magic wand box, that will make place eventually for a 1275, hopefully a Cooper S one later on, and a 22G1128 Cooper S remote box with hardy spicers...

The final plan is to build a Works replica, but let's see how it all goes.

The car is at the customs officials parking lot, and hopefully will be ready to do its MOT and be registered on monday/tuesday, when the fun begins!

Until then, here are some photos of it

Hi,

Love those wheels in the first picture, i've no idea what they are!! but they looked great :D

Doesn't look in bad condition atall!, if it was over here in the UK it'd be missing a floor and boot pan due to rust by now at best  , how lucky you are not to have half the moisture issues we do :goaway:  :gimme:

Goodluck with this :),

Cliff

Thanks guys!!

The wheels are BWA 5"x10" - like these: http://www.theminifo...arts/?p=1912298

It's actually in pretty decent state, especially considering that it's almost 50 years old! And it runs! If only it had some petrol in the tank for more than 35 seconds of engine rev. But it did start and sounded quite good! It will receive a quick service - some gaskets, new plug leads, distributor setup, perhaps a HS4 instead of HS2 for a tiny bit more power, and that should be enough for this season. Next season in comes a 1293 engine, flowed head with big valves, twin hs4, aldon dizzy, mk2/mk3 Cooper S remote box with close ratio and 3.44:1 fdr, hardy spicers and so on....

Literally can't wait to go for a drive in it! (the suspension does seem a little sorry at the moment, hopefully it'll last for a week or so :D)

Guys!

Here's the update after quite a while and a few thousands of grinning kilometers and massive amount of fun!

It was a cracking summer for the ol' Feta, we've covered some great distances - Balkanska Minijada, where we drove to western Serbia, something aroud 500 mile journey Friday to Sunday which happened on the last weekend of June. I'd like to thank Jeff Ruggles from Minimag for being a part of it and making such a great article in the Magazine!

Here are some shots of the fun I've had with Feta.
