Now the rain has passed, I'll get some more access and photos.

Have emailed ZCARS and they've come back they they will be in touch.  I've never had a problem with them and they've always been helpful so fingers crossed we'll get everything sorted properly.

Has anyone else experienced similar or had other areas of the kit that need to be examined to prevent similar happening elsewhere?

So after looking at some pictures on google of this subframe, I think i have spotted why it might have parted company here...

Have you bottomed the coilover out atall ?, seems that the subframe broke due to the suspension travel bottoming out, have you altered the coilovers ?

I shall have an ask.  The car has been stored over the winter with a "to do" list; one of them being a tyre change and to ensure the setup is correct.

We may have an answer on the horizon!

A friend of mine had something similar happen to his Zmini he was told buy Zcars that there had been a couple problems with an old employe's work they tock his car back and checked over/ fixed any damage caused by the wield failure.

I called them and asked what was the best course of action.  Unfortunately I do not live near ZCARs so couldn't justify the £££s to send the car up to them.

ZCARs did say that they would send over all the instructional materials for the kit but I never received anything.  In their defense, I didn't chase them.

Instead I went to a local chap who works on a lot of bespoke rally vehicles and he repaired the weld and made changes to the suspension set up on both sides to ensure it is as safe as possible.

The Mini has been off of the road for a couple of months now whilst I have an engine rebuild and some cosmetics spruced up.

How old was the conversion on your pals that had a similar break?
