After nearly ten years in the family, it's time for my Mini to go.
I’ve owned the car, a 1987 City E, personally for six years. Before then, my dad owned it. Between 1995 and 2007, it was stored in a dry garage. It's covered just under 40,000 miles, and comes with four months tax, three months MOT. It has recently undergone a huge restoration. New front end, new front wings, new sills, new valance. There is virtually no rust on this car. It was resprayed its original colour last summer, Nightwatch Blue 2 (rare so I'm told).
The original 998 engine has been replaced with a 1275 with 10,000 miles on it. Gear changes are smooth. A Playmini Supersport exhaust has also been fitted, and it sounds fantastic.
The wheel arches are genuine Wood & Picketts, and the wheels are custom 6x12 Superlites. A modified Innocenti 1001 grille (quite rare these days) has been fitted.
The interior has been renewed, with new carpets as well as custom door cards and seats. A dashboard and three clock dials have been fitted. A custom centre console has also been installed, which houses two Rockford Fosgate 6" speakers (very good quality!). In the parcel shelf, there are two 200W JBL 8" subwoofers, powered by a 400W amp in the boot. A Sony Xplod head unit is fitted in the dash, with auxiliary input for ipod connectivity. The sound system is probably the thing I'll miss the most about this car, it's compact but powerful.
There are only a few minor issues with this car that can easily be cleared up, but I really haven't the time to be tinkering with it anymore. The engine runs a little lumpy, having only been timed at home, and would really benefit from a rolling road tune. The rev counter doesn't seem to be working (I'll throw in the original two clock dials anyway) the rear window heater has been disconnected (accidentally pulled it off a while back
), and the headlining is a little grubby, and needs a good clean. But that's it.
Minor issues aside, this car really turns heads when out and about. I'm looking for £2600 ono. More photos to follow!

You may also notice the 1981 Mini HL in the photos too. It's definitely a project, as a non-starter with quite a bit of rust, but they're quite rare now and this one only has 21,000 on the clock. Complete with factory standard leather roof! Message me and I can provide photos, with some more details. I would happily let someone have it for £1000, subject to them viewing it first. Good ones are going for over four times that!
