My min below is a 91 Cooper albeit heavily modified, running on 10s etc and I want to put a Cooper badge on the boot.

The original badges being the strick on laurel reef type.  But I want something a bit more classy, my favourite badge being the Mk1 Austin Cooper S script but wondering if thats a bit naff not having any other mk1 features?  A mk3 cooper badge migh be more in keeping but I dont find it that exciting.

Suggestings please on a suitable badge, or keep it as it is?

How about the winged badge with the red and silver logo in it?

By the way, your Mini looks really good!

I would leave as is, 60s badges on late minis look a bit naff to me. But at the end of the day whatever you like is what to go for, who cares what anyone else thinks?

I thought hard about this too! my car is 96 cooper. I agree it is a bit naff with a 60s badge on a 90s car

In the end I went for a custom insert for the winged badge.

It looks as you have a Mainstream Cooper, which is always nice to see. By putting 10" wheels on you have already gone some way down the retro route and I do not see too much harm in continuing with this theme. Rover Coopers were a bit retro anyway as they used the Mk 2 Cooper grille. But I also agree with the idea of using a winged badge. The winged badge with Mini Cooper logo was created for the bonnet of the RSP and continued with the Mainstream. Both had laurel rear badges. With the SPi in 1991 the winged badge was added to the boot. The logo changed from Mini Cooper to Mini for the MPi so that it could be used on all models. The red Cooper logos were reserved for John Cooper's own limited editions. Every time I see a Mini with a red Cooper badge I cannot resist peering in to see a Cooper conversion chassis plate and being disappointed when there isn't one there.

Classic example for it's your car, do what you want with it!

You could always put a mk1 bootlid on it and mk2 rear lights too

Well on mine, a 93 which will have retro touches (Mk1 grille, Mk2 lights, Mk1 numberplate hanger and light) I'm going to have early style badges as they just look cleaner and classier.

Why not use the Mini from the Mk1 Austin alongside the Cooper script from the Mk1 Austin Cooper.

When I did my '93 Sprite I used the simply Mini script from the Mk1 Austin Mini...

...and the 1275 badge from the Mk2 Cooper S.

And on the front I used a Mk3 badge as it fitted straight on using the original Rover Mini badge holes.

As above, it's your car, do what you want to it, my personal opinion is that if you go for the Austin Script style it sits to high on the boot lid because of the MK 3 number plate light housing, I think the Morris script looks better with this combination as the badge is 'flatter'

Picture from this forum, I'll take it off if the Owner wants me to

Why not put an Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 one on? If you can find one that is. I have a new old stock one which I'm debating putting on as I'm going for the Mk1 look, so maybe going for the script writing instead. Innocenti ones look wicked on any mark of Mini in my opinion
