Ive got a CD player installed, all working correctly as it should.

However to get ti working I have had to connect it to the same fuse as the coil power. So It will only work on the last turn of the key before the engine starts, and when the engine runs.

Obviously this is rubbish at I have to have the coil powered up when I want to use it.

Whats the best way to wire it up so that I can have the CD player working on the ACC setting so I don't over heat my coil when the CD players on and the engine is not.

Hopefully that makes some form of sense!

You can either turn the ignition to acc and see what things work and then choose one of those to wire it too or what i did on my last mini was to wire it to the ignition barrel wiring. Can't remember which wire it was now it's been so long!

Or, you could wire it permanent live and just turn it on and off manually from the head unit. That way, it can be used even with the ignition off.

Find a live feed in the fuse box with key in acc position and wire it to that. Obviously check what circuit it is to make sure it can handle the extra load.

yeah found a fuse with acc live. Think its on the horn fuse. had it running and went through all the equipment, horn lights etc and no fuse blowing!

Thanks
