Not a really good idea to drive around with numbers on the doors unless you have a genuine rally car and are actually competing in a rally.

We rally people look on those not in a rally but with door numbers as 'boy racers'.

I though about getting door circles and numbers as I saw a mini similar colour to mine with them and it looked really nice, however as cooperman said its a bit boy racery, which kind of puts me of getting them.

I was discussing this with some other rally people and what we thought funny is that people who are not rally drivers and who put numbers on their doors generally use high numbers like 55 or 74 or whatever. Now rally drivers are seeded on events so the lower the number the better the driver, so not only are the boy racers pretending to be rally drivers, they are pretending to be not particularly good ones :D .

Not illegal, but if the driver holds a competition licence the MSA can remove it for 'bringing the sport into disrepute' and it will also attract possibly unwanted attention from the Old Bill for obvious reasons.

If I got my bike race number on my car, then I would be really rubbish as my number is 301.

Im 49, so no boy racer by any means and I pretty much stick to the speed limits in my Mini - but I put some door circle+numbers on mine just because I wanted to be a little different.

I have no pretence at being a rally driver (and Im not fitting roll cages etc) but I am sure that there will be some who think Im just a sad 'wannabe'.   I also appear to be really crap as my number is 367 as, being that sad git, it was the last 3 of my service number until very recently and I sure as hell earned that number after 27 years service.

Boy racer, lol 301 is my first three as I would have had my last two but it was already taken. So I just stick to 301 now, but if I had a number on my car it would be last two. Do you have a pic of your number on your car?
