Any ideas ,was thinking of maybe building something
Maybe one of those mini tamiya models

hours can be wasted, in no time
only problem is you have nothing to show for it, except wasting your life starring at a tv.

Much more productive and gives you a footstep on a bit of detailing, think about it.......you can do the Carb, Alternator, Wiper Motor, thermostat housing, all cleaned up or polished of you're feeling fancy make an engine bay look ten times better.

Ordered a tamiya classic cooper
My carb is away being cleaned & rebuilt but i know my starter motor needs doing
Might aswell strip engine down bring it indoors & clean never thought of that

Best way of bringing the engine in is to strip it as much as you can and ten get about 20 people (never any less than this) to help you lift in through a door way.
Seriously though, I'd get the ruddy big lump in the house AFTER cleaning it down outside with some GUNK or similar de-greaser as the floor with soon tun a funny shade of BLACK in not too much time.
After that you can tinker about with it at your leasure without worrying about the heavens.
Just don't make the mistake of cleaning and painting up the engine, and start putting arts back on it and realise you cant lift or push the ruddy thing back outside!, suprising how high a 4" doorstep can feel when carrying an A-series
