Black solid circle, or yellow circle with a thick black band outline (so its basically a black circle outline)

Its even harder to decide now Black does look good imo, but white is probably easier to get numbers for?
How hard is it to get white numbers when they are needed?

I can 't have permanent numbers though, it's illigal in Belgium ( oh we love belgian car law..)

For competition the door background colour must be white and the numbers black.

I can't see why not so long as they are the correct size. On my son's white 970 Cooper 'S' we used to outline the 'rectangular' white background with black tape:
