Sold the Heuer in the first post of the thread and bought myself a Rally Master set - cost a quarter of what I bought the car for and was a bargain at that! Its going to sit nicely on the glovebox lid :)

Got another day off on Saturday so will start stripping the engine bay paint then - inner wing paint is good but the toe board and bulkhead paint will need re-doing.

Minivan2007 - I was watching that gauge and tried to bid but my internet crapped out with 5 seconds to go! Someone got a bargain with it though, it was poorly advertised.

Parts coming in thick and fast! Just closed a deal for the seller of this little lot to take them off ebay - Speedwell inlets, throttle pedal and ram stacks, some of the rarest of the Speedwell items I wanted in one lot, Im chuffed!

I've always wondered how well those inlet manifolds would work. Great to see you managed to track down a set!

Yeah they came up at the right time! They are a lovely item, very well made and should flow great. The Speedwell collection is growing - received the wheel through and it is simply gorgeous - absolutely mint, will really set the interior off. Also received the inlets, ram pipes and throttle pedal as well as a Speedwell boot badge and interior plaque - I will admit to the badges being fakes, but they are damn good fakes and will do until the real thing pops up for sale somewhere :) The exterior badge will go on the boot in place of the Clubman badge currently there.

I also got the engine bay stripped and ready for paint - have this weekend off so will be painting the engine bay ready for the engine to go in once the subbys have been powder coated :)

He did the master cylinders too, no pics of them yet though.

Had another good day on the Min today, got the engine out the subby and the subby and running gear fully stripped ready to take to the powdercoaters - no real issues in the dismantling apart from one stuck ball joint but thats almost a regular thing :D

Also took about a centimeter of Waxoyl off the sills and wheel arches :D Its certainly done its job, as underneath I was greeted with the sight of mint condition painted stonechip, no need to do any work under here!

Thanks man :) You cant beat genuine period mods and accessories, they just look right. On which note, I have just had delivered another bit of Speedwell history to display with the car - a 1963 Speedwell catalogue. This is one of two Speedwell catalogues Ive bought, the other is the Fourth Edition from 1965 (yet to be delivered, coming from Germany). These catalogues give details and pictures of all the parts I am fitting and will display very nicely with the car at shows and will be kept in the safe the rest of the time, these things go for stupid amounts of money!

Spent a fair few hours on there my friend! The whole MK1 Performance site and the forums have been very useful so far. Speaking of which, I have just bought some NOS Britax harnesses from the for sale section on there - they have strange inertia reels installed on the rear strap but I will be sending them off to have these removed and a pair of standard mounting points fitted, as seen on the two lap belt mounting points.

Also following this, great project - love the attention to detail with the parts sourcing.

I'll be watching reassembly of the front subframe with interest as I have zero Mini experience and bought my Clubman in bits!

Cheers,

Stu
