The latest issue of 'Classic Car Weekly' reports on a recent fatal accident on the M1 involving a Ford Anglia on its way to a Ford Show at Gaydon but with no seatbelts fitted just as it left the factory.......

"A seatbelt would have saved my wife" - the hard-hitting story that forces a rethink about whether your classic should have belts fitted if they were not in original spec?

Apparently the womens husband was following the Anglia in his classic Ford Mustang heading for the same show.

I read this in CCW last week. My thoughts are with those left behind and the lady herself :( It's tragic to think that they were excited for a show just like the many hundreds they'd attended before being Ford enthusiasts, but this one ended so differently.

Yes, read this myself, very sad to read. It does make you think eh?

A mates dad had an Austin Healey 100/4 and whenever I went in it with him, I felt so vulnerable without the seat belts fitted.

Period looking belts are what I'd fit.

Also available from FDTS in West Byfleet, who will make whatever belt you want.
