The third party bit is also crucial - if it was a 15 grand Cooper S and you totalled it, you might regret it.

I have own insurance on my Mini and Yamaha - will check the small print on mine to see if I can drive another car. What a crazy situation, buy a car cheap to insure, include drive other cars then hop into a supercar for no insurance...! I'd imagine there is something in place to stop this but just a funny observation..!

there is, you can only drive another car if it is already insured. You need to let your insurance know the reg of the car you want to drive aswell

In the past, even when it was granted, the other car you are driving for your friend had to be insured too,
