Awww happy he is with other minis, "surrounded by friends", and not just sat rotting in a Queue for the crusher with old vauxhalls, wonder what his fate will be.
If it is going to be repaired ill find it, and give the new owner all his history file, spare keys etc.

it needs some SERIOUS work to fix, I had a quote from a very much trusted mini specialist, and it was with VAT £14k. Pre crash, it was a show winner.

Are all the Mini's on the car transporter going for scrap?
How come it is loaded with all Mini's?
No wonder later Mini's are rapidly becoming a rare sight on the roads........
In 20 years time people will look at that photo at all those restorable later Mini's, just like they do now at old photos of now valuable Mk1's being scrapped and broken up back in the day......which would now fetch a small fortune on ebay.

Bit of a thread revival but....
What happened to this Mini....? Did it get scrapped or has it been restored...?
Hills scrap are just round the corner from me, and I know that they get what parts they can from them and then crush the shell - regardless of what car it is... Including much more exotic cars than Mini's....

Was quite surprised to see a notification on here after so long. A few years on and I miss Bob. You never forget your first car and bob was amazing. Unfortunately bobs life ended, I’d like to think he lived on in other minis in the form of spares. He was registered as scrapped about 6 months after my final posting on here. Still gutted about him.
To put me on I get a cheap runabout metro, love it...... still got it, it does the mini shows and is as close to what I had with bob possible to ever have. After arguments and them saying basically its accept their offer or take them to court and loose it all as they just never loose they paid me my pittance for my mpi and after thinking about the car to get given the small funding.... I decided to save a mini, so got a beet on 1275gt, and with steel city classics did a full nut and bolt resto mod, a true one-off track mini. I also eventually got a mgf vvc for top down rwd fastish fun, restored an escort van for my detailing business. Shocker for me is ive kept all but the mini gt..... it was amazing but just not bob, plus in the 2 years following restoration it only made it to one event due to break downs, broke me mentally and financially, and made me put on friends to help and spend every second of free time keeping it running whilst it plotted my death with callipers stripping off, column snapping 2 engines and 3 boxes, and many more. So, sold this on, sad to say bye to minis but needed to be done. still love them but it wasn’t to be, so moved on to another dream, a TVR Chimaera. Love it loud, fast, British and a one-off build style.
So, to sum it up, bob died but saved me, another mini was saved in his name, I’m still a car nut in a fun British car but a Blackpool beast rather than a Longbridge lovely. I’m sure I’ll have a mini again one day but for now my mini itch is being scratched by the metro (Martha) and my fast car bit by the tvr (Damion). pictures to follow tomorrow.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to remember him, thanks, James. :)
