Hi guys

I currently 10" wheels on my rally mini, and as I'm sure you know there is a very very limited amount of choices! Dunlop d93j (which I can't locate any more) or yoko's a032's.

So I'm thinking of changing to either 12" or 13" I can see loads of 13" tyres, but does anyone know what choices there are for 12"

Many thanks

Kevin

I can see loads of 13" tyres,

Kevin, you need to check whether a lot of those 13's will actually fit a Mini without fouling- we run 13 x 165  A539's as many of the 13's have a profile that's too tall for a Mini.

We just run Yoko A539's Kevin - they're fine for hillclimbs/sprints. Which is useful as we don't really have the budget for anything else! A friend who used to run a rally Mini warned me about the problem of tyres with a profile of more than 165 potentially fouling. Escorts tend to run 175x13's so it seems many tyres are just produced in that size.

Depending on your price range, Avon make suitable 10" tyres too

I'm in the same situation.....If i want gravel tyres i've really only got one choice - Maxsports.  And have had differing results and problems with them too.

If you can find the Dunlops then they do look the best solution, but if they've stopped making them then it's Yoko or Yoko in either 10 or 12's.

The Avons are streets ahead of Yokos, but so is the price!

To be honest dude, the A032R tyre in a 10" is a really good all round tyre, they use them in rallycross.  As for 13" dont even go there lol all the good tyres are for escorts and the profiles dont fint under mini arches.  Your best bet is AO48 in the dry on a 12" rim, and AO32 in the wet on a 10" rim.

Lofty
