b****r, s**t
thats all i can say :S
ive just gone into the back of a mate on an nsr125, sunlight was on his tail, and i didnt see his brake lights and indicators, suddenly he stopped, i braked, hit the curb, and took him off :S
THANK CHRIST he is ok, and im fine, mini has lost its front nearside rim, the bumper, and grill, but it otherwise fine
we picked up his bike, it didnt look TOO harsh, cracked fairing and a few scratches
we drove to a nearby bike mechanic, and he said it would be in teh region of a grand to fix :S for a few bits of f***ing plastic!!!!!
surely that cant be right? it basicly needs all new fairing on the right hand side, i know its a lot, but a grand? isnt that silly money?
this is the worst afternoon in my mini history :'( ive had enough
ill never be able to raise that sorta cash, and if i go thru insurance it will sting me for years to come :S
how much is my insurance likely to rise for this? its 500 now 3rd party, im 17 with pass pluss, realisticly, what will it go up to? and will it ever go back down again?
anything anyone can say to make me feel ANY better would be great :S
oh
and rich, i cant buy ur block now, seeing as ive got a grand to find and almost NO income at all :S
this is so f***ed up :'(

Firstly, I'd try taking the bike somewhere else for another quote.

Even a full set of plastics shouldn't cost a grand.

That price is rediculas, may i ask what year the bike is??

You best bet is to go round, or ring round aload of motorbike places and getting quotes for the one panel.

the bike is an 03 nsr, nasty little thing in my opinion, even more nasty now tho!!!!
the exhaust is also rather scratched (no need to replace in my books)
problem is its all 3 panels on the right hand side :S front, mid and rear :S

still shouldn't cost that much mopeds have more panels than many bigger bikes, and it would only cost £500 max for all the panels on mine. you could but a brand new nifty fifty for a grand.

if i were you i would get aload of quotes.

My brother had a 100cc moped and when it got nicked they smashed the panel at the front so they could start it. Because the ped was so new you couldn't just go buy a panel so he had to order one from the manufacturers in italy or somewhere and they wanted nearly £600 thats like half the price of the ped!

lol @ you guys!

As for the bike, look around for second-hand/used parts or a bike that might be parted out?

If a bike's been crasehd on the other side, there's a good chance that the fairings for the side you need will be intact..

And of course go to a few more bike specialists for quotes, never rely on one.. (but don't pass out when another place gives you an even higher quote!)
